2024-T351 Aluminum Square Bar                                             2024 Aluminum is alloyed with 4.5% copper. Tensile Strengths range from 30,000 psi to 63,000 psi. It offers high strength. Corrosion resistance and workability are fair. Forming operations are also limited, but forms best in the "O" temper (annealed). The alloy is heat treatable to obtain several levels of strength depending upon the temper. Square bar is produced by extruding the aluminum (pushing through a die) to produce dimensional sizes. In the 2024 alloy, bars are cold finished unless otherside noted.
